Interview with Jason Rodman.

For this assignment our group had to do an interview with a talented person, and we spoke with Jason Rodman, who is a Senior PR student here at Roger Williams University. He has been playing for about 10 years, and told us that he is practically self-taught.

We first wanted to record him for the audio track, and he did a great job as he played an impromtu medley of songs and strung them all together to create a very unique background for us to use. It also showed off his different skills and really showed his talent as he talks about it.

The thing we experimented the most with were camera angles, and tried to get a different angle and shot, and also changed the level of zoom at some points, for each question we asked him. It gave the video more artistic value, which seemed appropriate for this assignment.

For another interesting element, we also videotaped him playing for additional visual interest, and it worked well to incorporate that. He also had very interesting answers that showed his personality and his love for being a musician.

So far, this is the project that really stands out for us because we were able to try some new things, as it wasn't necessarily news, but a profile that gave us a little more artistic license. The editing is very smooth, and the way we had envisioned this project was exactly how it came out.

Peace.

Senior Video - an interview with Courtney Fraser.

For this assignment, we had to do a video project related to the senior class here at Roger Williams University. We decided to talk to Courtney Fraser, who is joining the Peace Corps. upon graduation. She is currently Captain of the Equestrian Team, and has a great passion for riding horses. She has been riding 12 years, and is sacrificing her love of riding to help children in the Caribbean.

She will be undergoing intensive training for three months once she arrives at her station, and will not be able to see her family for six months. Her service will last about two and a half years before she will return to the United States. As mentioned, she will greatly miss riding, and she is hoping she will be able to find a place to ride on the islands.

In creating this video, we wanted to show not only the importance of the next chapter of her life, but also her love and passion for horseback riding. We decided to film her riding a horse named Rocky, who she is currently leasing at Windswept Farm, where the RWU equestrian team holds practices once a week. She also owns her own horse, which is kept at another facility. We filmed her riding on the flat, as well as over jumps.

She discusses how her her studies in Psychology, Anthropology, and Sociology apply to what she will be doing in the Caribbean, and how she will be mostly working with kids. We also took footage from the Career Fair on campus as the Peace Corps. was one of the organizations that was supplying students with information.

I am very pleased with how this video came out, and I think it really showed Courtney's passion for horses and her desire to help people. She is a senior that stands out from the rest both as a student athlete, and as a soon-to-be graduate. Everything about the video is great, from the standup, to the shots of her riding, and to the content we decided to use. I am very pleased with this project and am glad that we got to go somewhere off campus to do something different.

Peace.

Woops.

I haven't posted on this in a long time...my bad. I've been very busy with the end of the equestrian team season, causing controversy with the Public Safety officer here because of an article I write, you know, the usual. But I met with my adviser today and she said I am so on track for graduating it's not even funny. She seems happy too that I've learned so much here, and that for what I want to do, that I have a good background for what I want to do. Yay for being somewhat focused.

In other news, my car is crapping out on me. I already have one picked out.

Ohhhh. Ahhhhhh. I just need to pick the color and I'm all set.

In even more other news, I'm getting my nose pierced on Saturday. :O

And I figured I'd post some video I took over Spring Break...this is me jumping my horse Dylan.

Peace.
